Water is crucial to maintain a healthy body and mind. We need water to function properly. Each cell in our body requires water to perform critical functions that help run the body smoothly. Therefore, the more water we intake, the better it is for our body. 

Water plays an important role in our body to regulate essential functions – digestion to performance of different organs to brain functions and more. Having said that, we make the most of water when we are consuming pure drinking water. Contaminated water can potentially do more harm than good. Therefore, it is important to choose your water source wisely. Drinking water from a water jar may give you the false assurance of being clean and pure but you can not rely on it blindly. 1. As soon as you wake up in the morning

It is important to start your day with hydrating yourself. Have a large glass of water as soon as you wake up in the morning. This is essential because your body needs water to function in the morning. When we are asleep, our body is not getting enough water that is required and hence, it is recommended that we replenish the hydration. Along with hydration, water helps to uplift our mood and energy levels. 

2. Before, during and after workout

If you are someone who hits the gym in the morning, make sure to keep yourself well hydrated. When we workout our body tends to eliminate water and electrolytes through sweating. Therefore, it is important to replenish the water that is lost. Drinking excessive water before or during workout can affect your performance. Therefore, it is best to have a glass of water 30 minutes before your workout. Afterwards, sip purified water during workout in small intervals to keep your body recharged. Keep a water bottle with you and refill water from a water purifier before leaving your home.  Don’t forget to have enough water after your exercise. 

3. Drink water before and during every meal

Drinking water before any meals ensures that we do not overeat and this is a great help if you are looking to lose weight. Make sure to drink water at least 30 minutes before your meal. Drinking water during meals aids in digestion. Overall, water plays a key role in helping in digestion and hence, it is recommended to drink water for healthy guts. 

4.Midafternoon went you feel peckish

Often by afternoon, we start feeling peckish and reach out for unhealthy snacks. However, we often feel hungry because of lack of proper hydration. So, instead of drinking caffeinated drinks or eating a bag of chips, look for your water  bottle. Moreover, consistency is the key. Drink water at regular intervals to stay healthy and hydrated. 

5. In case of migraine and headache

Do you know you can have headache for not drinking enough water? Both headaches and migraines can be triggered by dehydration. Headache is a common symptom of dehyration in our body. It better to take preventive measures before you look for cure.
